Pizza is a dish of Italian origin. Its formal definition reads, “a dish of Italian origin, consisting of a flat round base of dough baked with a topping of tomatoes and cheese, typically with added meat, fish, or vegetables“.
Though there are many variations of Pizza around the world, can anything match the Original, thought Chef Mr Girish Mathai from Kottayam. He traveled across Italy to experience the true ethnic cuisine culture and taste of Pizza and Italian cuisine.
When he became very confident about what he learnt directly from the land of Pizza, he founded “Favourite Pizza” at Kottayam, in Feb 2009. His mission was to deliver the finest Italian Cuisine to the foodies of Kottayam.
“We offer a wide range of Italian food like pizzas, pastas, risotto, lasagna, burgers. We can proudly say ours is one of the best Italian restaurants in India!”, claims Mr Girish Mathai.
During the last 8 years, “Favourite Pizza” has spread to Ernakulam and other towns of Kottayam. They now have 4 outlets in total – 3 at Kottayam and 1 in Ernakulam.
“We are constantly trying to improve the dining experience by introducing fusion cuisines. Beef Ulathu Pizza is a classic example for fusion cuisines where east meets the west!”, Girish Mathai says.

One of their top item is Minestrone (Soup), which is the national soup of Italy. It is made with best Vegetables stock and Tomato Puree, Garnished with cubes of Vegetables and Macaroni Pasta.
