Rubber City Run 2017: Marathon & Fun Run
JCI Kottayam, as a part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations, is conducting a mega event of 10 Km (6.2 miles) Marathon Run, and 2 Km Fun Run at Kottayam.
The event is scheduled to start at 7 AM on 17 Sep 2017, at Nehru Stadium, Kottayam.
The event is designed to promote healthy lifestyle where people would involve more actively in physical activities, and return to play grounds.
Organizers are expecting very good participation from the local people, companies, schools, colleges, hospitals, clubs and other establishments. A minimum of 1000 participants are expected for the fun run (2 Km), and at least 300 runners for the 10 Km (6.2 miles) marathon run.
Participants can belong to any age group. Apart from the first three positions in the competitive event (10 Km Run), there will be separate prizes for categories like senior citizens (above 50 yrs), ladies, senior-most runner, the youngest runner etc.
The starting and finishing points for both runs will be Nehru Stadium @ Kottayam. Both runs will start at 7 AM on 17 Sep.
Route for the 2 Km Fun Run:
Nehru stadium ->
turn left from the main gate, and proceed towards hotel Green Park junction ->
turn right towards Kurian Uthup Road ->
turn right towards Sastri road ->
reach the turn-around point in front of Indian Oil pump ->
turn around, and proceed through the same route in reverse to reach Nehru Stadium ->
take a full circle inside the Stadium, and finish the run.
Route for the 10 Km Marathon Run:
Nehru stadium ->
turn left from the main gate, and continue towards Railways Station ->
proceed towards Logos Junction ->
turn left towards Police Club ->
turn right towards East Police Station ->
turn left, and run on K.K Road, keeping left side, towards Vadavathoor
Turn-around point: Indian oil pump, Thanikkapady -> punch the time card at the turn-around check point ->
proceed back to Ascension Church near Collectorate ->
turn right at the traffic island in front of the church to reach Logos junction ->
turn left towards Sastri Road ->
turn right to Kurian Uthup Road, and reach Nehru stadium ->
take a full circle inside the Stadium, and finish the run.

Registration is open now. Charges are as follows:
- Advance registration: Rs.250 per person
(Advance registration closes on 10 Sept 2017) - Spot Registration: Rs.350 per person
(Spot Registration closes at 6.15 AM)
