Hangout Play World @ Ettumanoor – A Dream Come True!
A neat hangout for kids’ entertainment has always been a long-cherished dream for the people of Ettumanoor and the nearby localities. The “Hangout Play World“, which is just 1 km away from Ettumanoor town, towards Kottayam, is certainly its realization!
Spread in more than half an acre area, the kids’ park has two big play stations – one water-play station and the other a multi-play station. Every inch of the park is wisely utilized for kids’ entertainment. There’s an equally big vehicle parking area, which is another core requirement of every public business these days.
Inaugurated on 26 Aug 2017 by Baby Meenakshi (Cine Artist – “Amar Akbar Anthony” & “Oppam” Malayalam movies fame), the park is a privately-owned establishment that has a clear road-map for considerable expansion in the near future, both area-wise and entertainment-wise.
An array of entertainment activities for kids:
The multi-play station has various open slides, tube slides, spiral steps, variety climb-ways and walk-ways. There are other play accessory units like:
- See-saw
- Revolving seats
- Trampoline
- Dart boards
- Archery equipment
- Basketball ring
- Swings (from toddlers to adolescents)
The park has a table tennis play unit, which can be used by adults as well.
Kids’ Gym:
Hangout Play World has a small yet decent kids’ gym that has Exercycle-like models, standing boxing punching bag, pull-up (hanging) exercise units, body-balancing exercise units, and various types of climb-ways.
Go-Kart Cycles & Buggys:
Kids would definitely be excited to see and use the wide range of Go-Kart Cycles and Buggys at this park. From pedal cycles/karts to motorized bikes/karts, they have a good stock, which would be enhanced very soon. More of these karts and bikes are on the way to the Park.
Water Play Station:
The most attractive element of Hangout Play World is its water-play station. Open slides, fountains and showers of multiple sizes & shapes, and tube slides make it kids’ favorite in this park.
Rates:
- The entry fee is Rs.75 per person. For Kids below 3 years of age, it’s free.
- There’s additional fee for the Water Play Station, Trampoline and Go-Kart Cycles & Buggys.
- Rs.120 is charged for entry to the Water Play Station, per person. There’s no duration limit.
- Rs.20 is the Trampoline fee for 15 minutes.
- For the Go-Kart Cycles & Buggys, the fee varies between Rs.60 and Rs.120. Simple pedal cycles will be charged Rs.60 for 20 minutes. Rs.120 is the fee for high-end motorized karts/cycles for 15 minutes.
- For bulk bookings from Schools, Clubs, institutes and residents’ associations like entities, the general all-inclusive rate is Rs.300 per kid/adult, with the timing 10 AM to 3 PM. This can vary based on the size of the group.

Timings:
- Regular business hours: 10 AM to 9 PM
- Water Play Station: From 3 PM to 8 PM

Cleaning & Maintenance:
The Park is kept very neat & tidy, with regular maintenance and cleaning. While the Water Play Station is cleaned every day, the water is fully drained out and refilled every second day.
The forthcoming BBQ Park Restaurant and Shopping Complex, attached to the Play World, will add extra charm and value to Hangout Play World.

Clothing requirements for the Water Play Station:
Polyester clothes are recommended, while cotton dresses are not permitted inside the pool. Banyan clothing is also allowed. You can purchase clothes from the park counter – Rs.80 is charged per piece (shorts or top), if you wish. If you take both shorts & top, it will cost you Rs.160.
